Grand Opening 10/5!
The West Stockbridge Dog Park Committee is throwing a party for all our neighbors and friends to celebrate the Grand Opening of the park, located next to Town Hall, on October 5 from 12 to 3.
Please join us, rain or shine, for a fun-filled afternoon:
12:30 Pet Parade. Gather on the soccer field to kick off the festivities with a Grand Opening Parade. Furry, or human, participants are welcome to show off with creative costumes.
Drake Azevedo, the Behavior Coordinator at the BerkshireHumane Society, will be doing demos for loose leash walking and how to enter the dog park with your pet.
1:00 Ribbon Cutting. The customary ceremony will take place at the park entrance after which the hounds will be unleashed.
2:30 Raffle Drawing. Join us at the Pavilion as we announce the lucky winner of a custom pet portrait painted by local artist Vivian Outlaw.
More details to come! Please RSVP to help us gauge how many humans and dogs to expect. Not required for attendance.
About the park
Welcome to the (future) West Stockbridge Dog Park! Our goal is to create a welcoming park where dogs can run and play, off leash, and give our town a new place to come together and build community.
The park will span approximately 1.25 acres, made up of a “Small Dog” and “All Dog” section, in a currently unused area along the western edge of the Town Hall lot.
We have worked with our design team to create a park that will not only be beautiful, but functional, with water fountains for dogs and humans, benches, waste stations with complimentary bags, and paths that will be fully accessible and ADA compliant for all to enjoy.
We expect the construction to begin on the park in the summer of 2025, with a grand opening later this fall.
We need your support!
The park will be entirely operated by volunteers and funded by donations, so for it to survive and thrive we need the support of our community and beyond.
There are a few ways that you can help out:
